CommUnity Crisis Services offers various support services to individuals facing a crisis.Crisis Helplines: 24/7 access to trained counselors via call or text at 988. We offer confidential support for emotional distress. This could include thoughts of suicide, depression, or anxiety.Mobile Crisis Response: Live in Johnson or Iowa county and in a mental health crisis? We can dispatch mental health counselors to your location. Whether a home, school, or public space in Johnson and Iowa counties. These counselors assist individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Call 1-855-581-8111 to access this free and confidential service.Food Bank: Only for Johnson County residents in need. You can find the food bank at 1045 Highway 6 East in Iowa City. We provide fresh produce, bakery items, dairy, and non-perishable goods.Financial Support: We offer help with basic needs. This could include rent and utility payments or security deposits. We can also help with clothing vouchers and gas vouchers. We can help with prescription medications and getting a temporary mailing address. This service is available only to Johnson County residents. For more information, call 319-569-6393.Healing Prairie Farm: For youth aged 10-17. We provide youth shelter and crisis stabilization services. We offer individual and family counseling, therapeutic recreation, and peer support groups. Available to any youth in the East Central Region. Or any Medicaid-eligible youth statewide.
