The Governor’s Conference on Substance Abuse has a new name! Governor’s Conference on Substance Use Prevention, Treatment and Recovery, also known as GCSU.
We are proud to align our name with the work we do in prevention, treatment and recovery. The GCSU annual event will be held virtually with a preconference on April
25th to include Ethics. Our main conference will be held April 26th and 27th.

Gambling: Community Outreach - Part 2
This session will continue the process of client find and where disordered gamblers are more likely to congregate and where they are likely to go to seek help.
Objectives:
- Participants will develop an outreach plan based of where those experiencing gambling problems seek initial help and begin to develop relationships with those potential referral agents.
- Participants will receive hands on help in developing their plans.
Gambling: Community Outreach - Part 1
This session will introduce counselors on outreach techniques that are effective in client identity and referral.
Objectives:
- Participants will understand where gamblers go to gamble and where they generally seek initial help
- Participants will compare those places with where SUD and MH patients go and where they seek initial help
