Sarah Vannice, MSc, joined the Bureau of Substance Abuse at the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) in November 2019 as a Community Health Consultant for the State Opioid Response grant. In her current role as the Epidemiologist for the Bureau of Substance Abuse, she works with internal staff and external stakeholders to gather, analyze and report on substance use, suicide, and gambling data in the state of Iowa. Following her undergraduate degree in Anthropology at McGill University, Sarah began her graduate career in the HIV and Hepatitis C Prevention Research Team at the University of Ottawa, where she received her Master’s of Science in Epidemiology.
