May is Mental Health Awareness Month. We hope you’ll take a few minutes this month to think about mental wellness and how it impacts your everyday life.
Mental health impacts our thinking, feeling, and actions every day. Poor mental health can lead to struggles in many areas of life. This could include at home, at work, or other relationships.
Feeling mentally unwell can be short-term or long-term. Signs you may be experiencing poor mental health include (1):
- Changes in sleeping patterns
- Changes in appetite
- Social withdrawal
- Declines in professional or academic performance
- Feeling uneasy, overwhelmed or depressed
These signs and behaviors can happen to anyone. It’s important that we all take care of our mental health.
