Peer Recovery Training | Day 2

The Iowa Peer Workforce Collaborative provides training for Peer Recovery Coaches with the goal of growing the workforce and organizations that employ peers. Training sessions are held online throughout the year and the training sessions and materials are free of charge to trainees.

The next Peer Recovery Coach training session is July 15-19, 2024, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Central).

Applications for this training are now open. To apply for this training, a Peer must:

  1. be at least 18 years old,
  2. have a GED or high school diploma,
  3. have a substance use disorder and be living well in recovery or be a family member of a person in recovery from a substance use disorder.

Please note: Completion of Peer Recovery Coach training is a requirement for the Recovery Coaching in Emergency Departments and Recovery Coaching in Justice Settings trainings which will held in August. This Peer Recovery Coach training is the last opportunity for peer recovery coaches to meet that requirement before those August trainings begin.

The Iowa Peer Workforce Collaborative (IPWC) uses the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) curriculum. This training is online only and includes 4 hours of virtual learning and 2 hours of individual study each day (1 week, Monday-Friday).
