Brain Injury and Housing Insecurity: Understanding the Connection

Description

Emerging evidence has begun to show a significant relationship between sustaining a brain injury and experiencing housing instability. Although the prevalence of brain injury among unhoused populations has been relatively established, there is recent focus on the occurrence of brain injury for those who are facing housing insecurity, and how brain injury impacts a person's trajectory into homelessness. This presentation provides an overview of the connection of brain injury and housing status, as well as recommendations and strategies to prevent and address housing instability in this population.
