This training is designed for substance use and problem gambling prevention staff and supervisors, coalition leaders and members, and others interested in prevention in Iowa.

This webinar will provide an overview of the Iowa HHS (Agency) Evidence-Based Practices, Programs and Policies Selection and Implementation Guide (EBP Guide).  The EBP Guide provides a clear foundation for effective prevention strategies in Iowa by providing Agency funded prevention contractors, and others, with guidelines to select the most appropriate, data-driven and "best fit" prevention strategies for implementation.  The EBP Guide is aligned with the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) and emphasizes fidelity in implementation.

After attending the Webinar, participants will:

  • understand the history and purpose of the EBP Guide,
  • understand the definitions and concepts within the EBP Guide, and
  • know how to use the guide to support selection and implementation of EBPs with fidelity.
