Tackling Data Regional Training

Do you find it challenging to communicate data? Are you interested in expanding your knowledge so you can better use and explain data? If so, an upcoming training is happening near you!

The Iowa Institute of Public Health Research and Policy at the College of Public Health, the University of Iowa and the Iowa Department of Public Health are providing data training opportunities for public health professionals. These trainings are provided through the year, throughout Iowa, and are free thanks to a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The trainings focus on advancing individuals’ knowledge to better understand, use, and explain data to those they work with and within their residing community. Participants in the fields of public health, prevention, health care delivery, members of boards of health, providers, elected officials and anyone interested in expanding their knowledge of communicating data should attend this training!

This training will identify substance use data sources which may benefit substance use and problem gambling prevention and treatment programs to assess community needs and better use data for funding opportunities and/or reporting.
